PLANETARY ENGINE

Earth as Fusion Reactor

Earth is a fusion reactor. Not metaphorically, but literally — a planetary engine powered by the same nuclear forces that light the stars. Deep beneath the crust, radioactive decay generates heat that drives tectonic plates, circulates ocean currents, and shapes the atmosphere. Above, solar fusion bathes the surface in energy that photosynthesis converts into the caloric surplus upon which all civilisation depends.

This is the cosmic substrate from which all infrastructure emerges. Before fire was tamed, before the first irrigation channel was dug, before the first road was laid — the Planetary Engine was already running. It is the original infrastructure: the system of systems that makes every subsequent human achievement possible.

The Infrastructure Odyssey begins here, at the intersection of cosmic energy and human intent. Every relay that follows — from Fire to Human Nodes — is a chapter in humanity’s ongoing dialogue with this engine. We did not create the Planetary Engine; we learned to read it, harness it, and ultimately to extend it beyond the atmosphere itself.
